On Friday, March 22, the Girls JV softball team played against the Lemoore team. They won 9-1, keeping up their winning streak throughout the WYL games.

Mackenzie German, ’21, one of the pitchers, was proud of how well the team did. “It was a great team win with everyone contributing both offensively and defensively.” German says that the one thing they have improved most on was their hitting. “Our team possesses a great amount of talent, determination, and integrity,” German says. She feels like the team has grown immensely in confidence, which helps them play better.

Defensively, the team had 13 strikeouts and offensively, there were two triples and other solid hits. Savannah Rodriguez, ’21, was also happy with the outcome of the game. “We’ve all started playing as a team.” According to the players, the team morale is the best attribute and the most important. Kylie Maurice, ’22, is also excited to have met so many new people her first year, and to be part of a succeeding team.

The girls are doing well in WYL and if you want to see one of their games and support the girls, the next one is Friday, March 27, at Redwood against Golden West at 4:30.
