2020 has definitely been a different year for almost everyone. For this very reason, people have had more time to learn new skills, such as baking. Below are 2 simple baking recipes you and your family can make to celebrate the holidays!

Truffles

Ingredients for cake part: Pillsbury Funfetti Cake Mix, 3 Eggs, 1 Cup Water, ½ Cup oil (either canola or vegetable oil)                                         

Ingredients for the rest: Cupcake Frosting ( of your choice ) White chocolate melting wafers, shortening, food coloring

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cake mix, eggs, water and oil, then transfer to a 8 x 8 baking dish.
  3. Bake for 34-36 minutes or until lightly browned.
  4. When done, cool down the cake on a cooling rack for about 10 minutes, or until it’s completely cool
  5. Cut off the surroundings of the cake so you are left with just the fluffy inside.
  6. Crumble it very finely and add one spoonful of Frosting and mix together, then roll into tiny balls.
  7. Melt White chocolate wafers with 1 tsp of shortening (makes the chocolate easier to dip cake into) 
  8. Dip the cake balls into the chocolate, then set into mini cupcake liners.
  9. Mix the remaining white chocolate with green food colouring and dizzle it on top.
  10. Add sprinkles to the top, then enjoy!

Cinnamon Bun Bites

If you love the taste of fall, try these delicious pumpkin spice and cinnamon bites! 

Ingredients: 2 tablespoons of melted butter, sugar, pumpkin spice or apple pie spice, cinnamon

Ingredients for Frosting: Splash of milk, 2 tbsp of cream cheese, 3 tbsp powdered sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 
  2. In a bowl add 2 tablespoons of melted butter 
  3. In another bowl add 3 tablespoons of sugar, ½ tsp of pumpkin spice and ½ tsp of cinnamon
  4. Grab Pillsbury original dough biscuits and cut 2 biscuits into 6 pieces each
  5. Roll the previously cut up pieces  into balls 
  6. Dip balls into butter, then into  the cinnamon sugar, pumpkin spice mix 
  7. In an oven friendly bowl, place cinnamon coated balls in the bowl. 
  8. Mix your leftover butter and cinnamon pumpkin spice mix together
  9. Pour the mixture on top of balls 
  10. Put them in the oven for about 16-20 minutes

Frosting: 

  1. Grab a bowl and mix together 3 tbsp of powdered sugar, 3tbsp of milk and a small splash of milk
  2. Mix until you get a frosting like consistency

-Take Bites out of the oven, add the frosting and they’re all good to eat!
