The girls golf team has been traveling from county to county, practicing on different courses to improve their game for the upcoming season. The varsity team competed against Tulare Union on Thursday August 30, at Tulare Golf Course. Although Tulare was a great challenge, the girl rangers pulled through with a win, Riley Santiago ’22 and Ashley Wainwright ’20 coming in with 41’s.
Wainwright ’20 has been on varsity since her freshman year and is one of the top players on the team. “This season has been going great. Our team has really improved,” said Wainwright. She feels as if she was playing great the other day and the thing she would improve would be her putting.
Halle Arellano ’19 is a senior on the varsity team this year. She is disappointed that it’s her last year but she feels like this is going to be one of the best years since she’s started as a freshman. “I started out a little rough at the beginning of the season but I feel like I’m coming back and improving a lot more.”
The girls next tournament is this Thursday at Valley Oaks. This marks the end of pre-season and the start of the WYL tournaments.
