ASB shares all the details about the setup for the Moonlight Harvest!

September 23, 2023, was a sparking night for the high schools at VUSD. The Moonlight Harvest dance was happening at Mt. Whitney, giving students a fun night with their friends. Behind this, Redwood ASB worked day and night to set up the dance.

Mrs. Ashton says, “Mount Whitney didn’t have an ASB teacher for a while, So myself and the other activities directors had to come together while they were missing a teacher. They have now found somebody and she seems wonderful.”

The other activities directors and Mrs. Ashton came together to keep things going at Mount Whitney. And now that they have a new ASB teacher it can help improve their school.

Izek Nelson says, “We recently just painted sunflowers for each school. The activities directors from each of the high schools have been working together and we’re divided into the specific tasks that each school is responsible for doing. Saturday is when all the schools come together and we work together before the dance.”

Painting sunflowers for each school is a good way to collaborate. It’s nice how all the schools work together on Saturdays to set up for the dance. It allows meeting new friends during the setup.

“It’s always fun to see the gym transform from just a regular old gym to something with a fun theme and all the lighting and getting the sound ready.” Mrs. Ashton says.

The gym turns into a cool space with awesome lighting, and all the sound equipment ready to go. Students from all the high schools have a fun and memorable experience.

“I think it’s a fun theme. I hope people go and encourage them to buy tickets at the finance center. But yeah, I’m excited for it.” Says Nelson.

Students are excited about the harvest dance and the opportunity to contribute to all the VUSD high schools. Nelson says, “It’s nice seeing them and making new friends, and it’s cool to contribute something to all the VUSD high schools. I’m excited for the harvest.”
