With upcoming dances, such as Winter Formal many are excited for their partners to ask them out with a cute proposal.

Boyfriends around school asked their girlfriends if they would like to go to winter formal with them with decorated posters, flowers, and snacks during the school day.
Usually when asking the big question, boys will have a theme for the poster. Popular ones include Disney references and other admired media culture.
Fernanda Carreon ‘24 says “He made a poster and used a song from The Greatest Showman: Rewrite the Stars on the poster he put: ‘Would you rewrite the stars with me and go to the winter formal?’ He put some pictures of us on the poster. It was charming and he got me roses.”
Since the winter formal was December 2nd many students have been asked out to the winter formal or have asked someone. This is a special moment, especially for seniors, being their last year at Redwood and their last winter formal.
Another cute theme that a boy chose to ask out their partner was a Beauty and the Beast Disney themed poster.
Marcos Cenobio ‘26 asked someone out through a Beauty and the Beast inspired poster that said “Will you be my guest for formal.” Marcos gives thanks to his sisters because they helped him bring the guest of honor to his location.
Cenobio ‘26 says, “I’m going to wear all black and a green bow-tie because it’s her dress color.”
Leilani June Hernandez ‘26 says “ It was early morning, so I was tired and it made me feel a lot better.”
Getting asked out to the winter formal can be very memorable for all of the students. Being tired in the early morning can put a limit on things. But it’s amazing how something you enjoy can turn it all around and make you feel so much better. It’s like a little energy boost that helps you start the day on the right foot.
Hernandez describes her memory of being asked out, “It was a big paper with snowflakes on it that said, “‘There’s snoway that I’m going to winter formal without you.’”
Overall getting asked out for formal will forever be a memorable experience.
