For many, winter break was an opportunity to reconnect with loved ones and create lasting memories.

Bailey Krauss ‘25 expressed her joy at the simple pleasure of spending quality time with her family.

She says, “I went to Cambria to look at Christmas Lights and being there and seeing all the Christmas lights and especially because it was right before Christmas so it was getting in the Christmas Spirit.”

Miss Johnson, who is a 10th-grade history teacher, found comfort in the cozy charm of her home, with her new dog, Piper, making it feel like home rather than an adventure outside.

Miss Johnson says, “We got a new puppy her name is Piper, and she’s a short-haired Mini dachshund so that was the highlight of my winter break…I did not travel anywhere because of having the puppy we felt like we had to stay home and you know take care of her and try to train her.”

Winter break was not only a time for personal connections but also a moment to strengthen family bonds.

Samuel Reyes ’26 seized the chance to partake in festive activities, ranging from bonding with his family and playing amusing games; the uncomplicated pleasures of quality family time emerged as the focal point of his holiday season.

Reyes says, “I got to bond with my family. We played some games and it was a fun game. It was like we learned about weird facts and stuff and whoever had the weirdest facts won.”

As New Year’s Eve approached, Bailey Burdick ‘24 expressed her desire to spend the night with her family and friends to celebrate the end of the year.

Burdick says, “I aim to bring together as many people as possible – be it friends, my brother’s friends, or our family’s friends – all converging in one shared space.”
