This school year is the first after the long-lasting quarantine session, as well as the first normal Thanksgiving break for Redwood students.

Rangers are doing their best to contribute to the homeless and needy with classes like AVID and clubs like CSF, creating the canned food drive as well as the sock donation to help this upcoming dense and foggy season.

Ruben Contreras, ’25 shares how he’s excited to be driving to see his family after a long and dreadful year of COVID-19, which many Rangers have in common.

He’s also eager to share that in order to celebrate Thanksgiving, his film class is taking vlogs to, “not only share our culture, but to also improve ourselves as filmmakers.”

Abigail Kable, ’25 shares how she can’t wait for the upcoming feast that she is going to share with her family.

She says that Thanksgiving is, “a great time to share with family.” She also shares that Thanksgiving is a great time of the year to share with family you don’t get to see very often.

Although there are many personal events in Rangers’ lives for Thanksgiving, there are also classes such as AVID which are doing charitable events such as a canned food drive and a sock drive, being run by CSF members.

When asked what inspired her AVID class to do the canned food drive, Briana Romo, ’25 explains how they noticed that in such uncertain times many families are not getting enough food, as well as saying how in times where people should, “be around their loved ones.”
