Wrapping up Cowhide week right before the big game, Redwood’s lunch time carnival always has people excited to go to.

Hailey Aston, Redwood’s Activities Director, had many hopes for how this year’s Cowhide carnival would go, especially with new additions and activities added to it this year. Aston says, “we have a petting zoo coming, where kids can come in and pet a variety of different animals.”

Many different people were able to help with the setting up for the carnival, emphasizing school spirit for the game, Aston says, “we have some really cool cow print benches that were made by our AG department.” Being able to show school spirit even through decorations always brings a more cheerful mood to the school.

As activities are fun on their own, there will also be many different food vendors for students and those on campus to get food. Aston says, “we have four vendors coming with different food options for kids.”

Clubs on campus also have an important role within the carnival as they are able to participate, Aston says, “we also have five or six clubs putting on different activities at lunch too for kids to play, just to have a good time while music plays.”

The Cowhide lunch time carnival has been going on for many years, creating a tradition on campus.

Aston says, “the Cowhide carnival is a fun time to, one, keep kids on campus to celebrate the last lunch before Cowhide, everybody just feeling good and excited about the game”

The carnival has been a way in which many students are able to come together and have a good time, Aston says, “(the carnival gives) an opportunity to enjoy each other’s time.”

Aston says she, “hopes it turns out well and that people have a good time and enjoy the food and the petting zoo, because the petting zoo is new for us so we’re excited.”

The Cowhide carnival is a good way to begin the celebration for the big game.
