Teenage Republicans Club is starting up again for its third year. And it looks like a great year ahead for them.

Caleb Rodriguez ’21 is the President of the Teenage Republicans Club. The club started when he was a Sophomore, at that time the club was called Young Americans for Freedom.

Rodriguez brings the political expertise and the determination of a great leader to the Republicans club for 3 years now. He describes his political stance as Conservative, Republican, and practicing the ideas presented in constitutionalism.

Rodriguez is very passionate about politics in his free time he “spends a good amount of time reading about politics and discussing it,” and also plans on studying political science and law school in the future.

Ainsley Chamberlin ’21 is a first-year member of the club. She was elected Vice President at the club’s first meeting. She feels fit for the Vice President position because “she wants to be involved helping out her local teen republicans and being apart of this club is a great opportunity for that”.

Chamberlin is planning on contributing to the club by, “providing events and guest speakers that can help get the club more involved.” For this club, the Vice President handles duties, attends the meetings and represents the club.

The Teenage Republicans Club is an official auxiliary of the Republican Party. At Redwood, the purpose of the club is to get teenagers involved in Republican Party Politics.

For example, campaign for candidates, host events, and community service. The club is a great way to get involved at Redwood and with Politics as they talk about community political issues.

Jayden Cardona ’20 has been involved with the club since it first started. He enjoys being in the club because it “brings people together to talk about their [political] beliefs.”

He feels like the club is a way he can express “something he believes in alongside his friends.”  Three years ago Cordona helped Rodriguez start up the club. Cordona is excited to participate in community service events that the club plans on organizing.

Rodriguez has great plans for the future with this club: he wants the club to get involved in the local Republican Party, attend more political events, and even host some guest speakers.

Rodriguez felt that “as a student high school, it is difficult to express your political opinion and you may think that your peers will judge you but they won’t. This club is an open space to express your opinion here and there is no judgment.”

Dylan Wood, 20’ is a first-year member of the club, he feels that “there is a lot of great people in the club and it is a great way to bring people of like minds together”. He joined the club because wanted to “hang out with his friends and learn a little more about politics.”

The 2020 elections are coming up and this club is a great way to get involved and talk about the candidates. Check the bulletin for more information on club meetings and activities!
