Redwood yearbook members give an insight into the annual log assembly and what it means to the student culture.

It was the 69th Annual Redwood High School Log Assembly where Redwood’s yearbook team alongside Ranger Video, teamed up to bring forth a memorable event. The Log Assembly celebrated the class of ‘24 and their future academic plans. In addition to celebrating the seniors,  the entire school gathered to see a sneak peek of the yearbook.

Nostalgia was definitely in the air as the whole school came together to watch the log video and reminisce about the many moments that will now be cherished memories.

“This event encapsulates what it means to be a Ranger and reminds them how far they’ve come. As our seniors prepare for the next chapter of their lives, it’s important to look back at the current one and take it all in before flipping to the next page,” says Erik Navarro ‘25.

Editors in chiefs: Natalie Nelson ‘24, Lea Veiss ‘24, and Aaliyah Jenson, ‘24

It’s a recap of the year where the senior class takes a moment to take it all in one last time before preparing to say goodbye. The assembly allows the school to celebrate and congratulate each other as they move forward in the next season of their life.

“My favorite part about the log assembly is when each person stands to reveal their plans. I think it’s just a special moment when the senior class gets together and everyone realizes we will never have this moment together again” Says Aaliyah Jenson, ‘24.

“As seniors, we only had 3 years of high school because of Covid. This assembly highlighted all of our achievements over the years,” says Lea Veiss, ‘24.

At the log assembly, the chief editors and yearbook advisor Mr. Feehan, presented the highly anticipated yearbook cover reveal. This year’s cover deeply touched the hearts of many.

This year’s theme, “Rooted In The Valley” perfectly embodies the strong connection to Redwood and our community here in the valley. No matter where we go, we will have a piece of home with us.

“The connections made throughout high school run deep, creating core memories and root us to our hometown. We thought it was important to show how the connections established here in the valley connect us all to the community, the school, and each other,” says Natalie Nelson, ‘24.

It was clear that so much effort and love was put into creating the yearbook. A precious gift to time capsule the people we have come to know and the memories of our time together at Redwood.

“It’s simultaneously stressful but my favorite part is the yearbook cover reveal. For those who work on the yearbook, it’s a huge and emotional investment. At the assembly, there were ooh and aah’s over the cover which was the exact reaction we had hoped for,” says Calvin Feehan.

“I hope the log assembly reminded everyone of how far we have come and how far we can go,” says Veiss.
