In preparation for this upcoming chapter, FBLA officers went on a coastal retreat this past weekend to develop a game plan for the season that lies ahead.

While one never needs a reason to go to the beach, Jacob Hutchison ‘24 says  “It was to team build, get to know one another, and start the year off strong by planning club day and our first meeting.”

“ My experience going with the officer team was really fun and I thought it was planned out really well by Adam and Keira so, props to them!” says Linda Hererra ‘24.

FBLA strives to be successful and to do so preparation is key.

“ Many of us felt that the best way to ensure our officer team would be strong was to connect from the start. We have big goals for our chapter this year. In order to achieve them, we officers must be prepared,”  says Kiana Lovgren ‘24.

However, it’s important to maintain a balance between work and play. They managed to do just that.  “We did all of our work in the morning and had a fun time bonding in the afternoon at the beach,” says Linda Herrera ‘24.

“We played a game almost like smack ball. We had these paddles and we were in a star formation hitting the ball everywhere. I was non-stop laughing,” says Herrera.

The team took every opportunity to create lasting memories. “Everyone was really active. We played football, swam in the ocean. It was just really fun to share these memorable moments with my team,” says Erik Navarro ‘25.

“ My favorite part was when we went to the beach. I forgot my swimsuit, but I ended up jumping in with everyone in my clothes. It was a lot of fun and we all body surfed the waves together,” says Lovgren.

Business mode or not, this FBLA family knows how to have a good time. With a bond like this their competitors better watch out because this team is gearing up to be unstoppable.

“ My experience overall was really cool because not only did I get to meet a lot of the officers but, it was a chance to learn more about the organization itself and what we do as officers,”  says Navarro.

Future FBLA members should be on the lookout for FBLA’s first meeting this Thursday. The meeting will be held in room 17, Mr. Avila’s room in the Business building.
