Coach Black, the head coach, was interviewed on the boys performance during the scrimmage.

Black says, “We were resilient. We played hard, adjusted well and each player played for each other.”He continues by saying, “We won’t change our playing style much, just fine tune what we have and get as prepared as possible.

Issac Esquivel, ’25, says, “Some big takeaways from the scrimmage in Dinuba was we all worked the ball well and played our roles the way we were supposed to. Shooters shoot, defenders defend, and we all score.”

Esquivel says, “I feel like it brought our confidence up because it showed how good we can go if we just work together as a team.”

Cole Gilcrest, ’25, a center for the varsity basketball team, explains the strategy going forward. He says, ”Well I’ve heard they’re a very athletic team(Lemoore), so they’re going to have some speed, so we really have to lock down on our defense.”

Gilcrest says, “I hope our team can have good communication, you know, that’s the only thing we really have been lacking, communication.”

Gilcrest finishes by saying, “ Hopefully we will get to the valley championships this season.”
