Redwood Rangers varsity baseball is going against Porterville on March 25th 2023. The baseball games have been postponed multiple times due to weather conflicts, but Redwood has started the season 5-4 ( 1-0 in league).
Ty Potts ’23 says, “Despite the rain, we’ve been getting our practices in.”
Potts says, “We’ve mostly been hitting inside because of the rain so we haven’t been able to use the outdoor cages.”
Redwood Baseball hasn’t been able to play games since the weather, however they are still prepared to win again.
“Porterville isn’t one of the tougher teams on our league, but we definitely feel like we’re prepared,” he says.
They’re coming from a win against El Diamante last Thursday.
Potts says, “This is our first year playing Porterville, we don’t know a whole lot about them but we know enough.”
As far as how Potts is preparing himself outside of practice, he says, “On Mondays, I hit at the cage by myself.”
Jaxon Griffiths ’25 says, “All of us have been affected by the weather.”
He says, “We’ve been getting a lot of reps in and really focusing on everything.”
Griffith says out of practice they’ve been lifting in the weight room to prepare.
“I’m not that nervous, I think we’re the best team in the league,” Griffiths says.
