Students help bring the new Photography class at Redwood High School to light telling their experiences so far.
This school year has given students the opportunity to take new classes placed at Redwood High School. One class is Photography, which has become likable with students.
Nick Miller teaches the photography class at Redwood High School, alongside Journalism and AP Literature and Expression.
When reflecting on teaching the first photography class, Miller says “it’s kinda fun, I learn something new every day. It’s making me a better photographer and I hope I’m helping kids.”
“I love being creative,” Miller says, “I love the power of photography, as a journalism advisor and a secret photographer of the Gigantea, I know how fun it is!”
Isabella Garza ‘23 is a student in this class. When looking at this class, Garza says “it is so fun! Mr. Miller, he’s so nice and he’s so funny, and he’s really good at teaching photography.”
Garza said that she had wanted to get into photography a few years ago and that she “saw that there was a photography class and wanted to learn more about it.”
Leo Marquez ’23 is yet another student photographer enrolled in this class. Marquez says that he “wanted to put his hands on a camera and to professionally use a camera wisely and focus and take good pictures.”
Marquez believes that the importance of the class is “how to use a camera professionally and your ability to learn how to use a camera.”
Miller would like to add that towards November/December the photography class will start coming out with some of their work after they get trained and he will create a website and hopes to have some visits.
