On Wednesday, October 12th, Redwood Women’s Volleyball took the win against Monache High School.
Going into the game, Ashlyn Guenter ‘24 says, “I was so pumped going into this game. [It] was Monache’s senior night so they were so energetic, confident and had a huge crowd to cheer them on.
She continues with her positivity by saying, “I was excited for this game because I knew our team would play great against a great team.”
As these girls have already played Monache in league, they were asked if this game was any different.
Kennedy Cutler ‘24 says, “It was different because we were at their home gym and they had lots of fans to support them. We used their fans to our advantage by trying to be louder and more pumped than them.”
Payton Short ‘25 also says, “There was a lot more pressure than the last time at Ridgeview Middle School.” (The Ranger’s current home gym)
With playoffs just around the corner, the team is preparing. Cutler says, “We’ll be going against a lot harder teams so we need to improve on the basic skills. We can also work on utilizing different players because everyone offers something different on the team.”
Guenter says, “This was our best league game so far.”
