Redwood High School got the Cowhide back from rival school, Mt. Whitney. After the hide being gone for an entire year, and losing Cowhide last year, returning students may have forgotten where they can see the hide. Freshmen might also be wondering if they will be able to see it.

Mr. Coon was asked where the hide is being kept. He says, “The hide right now is in the Ag Mechanic Shop. The overall size of that trophy makes it very difficult to put up on walls.”

The hide is not on display right now for students and faculty to see because it is challenging to find a spot in the school for it to fit. Coon says, “We’re not going to change the shape of the hide at all but we are going to make the board a little bit more in conjunction with the shape of the hide. Other than being rectangle.”

Once Ag reshapes the hide in a way to where it is more manageable to hang up, it would typically be placed in the gym. However, the issue with the gym not being finished yet makes the decision of where the Cowhide will be placed a little more difficult.

Until the gym construction is finished, the permanent spot for the hide has not been decided yet. When there is a spot open, Coon says, “We like the hide up high. We like it being highly visible.”
