ASB current and previous members share how Love Week came to be.

Traditions are everywhere throughout Redwood High School.  The month of February holds one of those traditions known as “Love Week”.

“We love Redwood and Redwood loves you” written in chalk near Senior Court

Love Week has been a long-standing tradition at Redwood, and was initiated by former ASB advisor, Mr.Miller.

The spirit week originally started to display love for the community at school and out.

Love week at Redwood is not just about partners loving partners, it has a deeper meaning.

Miller created an outstanding tradition that brings kids together for a fun and positive way to share love to each other and the campus. Current ASB advisor Ms. Aston says, “They created love week to celebrate the love for the campus, love for each other and for the school generally.”

Redwood’s ASB President, Savannah Torres says, “This yearly tradition to students is to spread kindness around campus as a whole and to bring us together as Redwood.

As the tradition has grown throughout the years many things have grown along with it such as the decorations and events.Aston says, “A favorite part about love week is when the kids come in whenever we have school and they can see their hearts on the wall.”

Love week being celebrated by the Rangers is an ongoing school spirit. It brings a surprising element of excitement from students and teachers with lunch time activities, dress up days, and a picnic that is held.

Torres says, “It really makes me happy to see all the kids walk into school and see their hearts on the wall and see the campus decorated in love fashion.”
