The top 5 homecoming nominees participated in the lunchtime activities in the quad on September 11th-13th, 2018.

On Tuesday the 11th, the nominees start the activities off by participating in a dance battle. Every couple or escort and nominee was given a song and had to dance to it in the quad in front of all the students. The dance battle was a crowd favorite.

Jill Nelsen, ‘19, said that her favorite part of that day was, “all of us just having fun and just being able to be ourselves and not care and just dance. It was great for all of us just to get together.” Nelsen and Kaylee Gallardo, ‘19, can both agree that since they are seniors, it is very bittersweet and an honor to be a part of it.

On Wednesday the 12th, the nominees played musical chairs. The nominees battled it out and first round, Brianna Lopez, ‘19, won. She also won the third round. Gallardo feels that, “Our friendship has grown especially since we are all good friends. So I feel like being able to play these games and all be nominees is really cool.”

The Great Race 2018

On Thursday the 13th, it was the last game, and the nominees participated in a huge race. All the nominees got a bunch of their friends and did this big race with a bunch of obstacle courses. Leslie Arellano, ‘19, was in charge of the great race. She said that, “The great race gets crazy. The point of the race is to go through hard and easy obstacle courses to get to the finish line.”

Most people also usually like the great race the most because it gets people hyped. The nominees really enjoyed the games and gave positive feed back to Arellano. She feels that the students watching really enjoyed the activities as well.

Asb plans on doing other lunchtime activites later on so everyone can get invloved. Arellano suggests that you should volunteer and participate as well.
