On Friday, September 16th, and Saturday, September 17th, Redwood’s Women’s Tennis Team played in a tournament located at Redwood High School. Overall, the team won in doubles.

As the tournament lasted the whole day, Antonella Cardenas ‘24 says, “I felt confident and ready to go at all times.”

When asked what the team’s biggest weakness of the tournament was, Cardenas also says, “Rather than calling them weaknesses I prefer to see and call them an opportunity to learn and something to get better at.”

Jocelyn Arrellano ‘23 and Cardenas won first in their doubles match against Sanger.

Continuing on this positive note, Arrellano  says, “Our biggest strength is coming back from being down sets or games in matches.”

Emma Jenan ‘25 also had a tough competition. She says, “Sanger was the hardest team we had to beat. They are very consistent, and hit with a lot of power.”

In the up-coming season, Jenan says, “We’re undefeated in league so far, so we’re striving to keep that streak. We’re hoping to beat Mt. Whitney and El Diamante next week.”

Cardenas says, “Each day I am excited to work along with them and I feel like this year our game on the court is one of the strongest we have had. Our bond as a team is stronger and it feels like a family! LET’S GO RANGERS!!”
