Brielle Alvarez ’22, said, “I always wanted to be elected in a student government position and I’m so lucky I had a chance to this year. I love being able to lead the Freshmen class and it has been a goal I wanted to achieve. It felt really nice finding out that I was elected as the President for the class of 2022 and to know that I achieved something.” Alvarez also adds on why she thinks being the Freshman Class President is a big role. “Being President is important to me because I want to be able to let the class of 2022 be heard and to tell them that its okay to be outgoing because, in the end, it’s all worth it. I’ll be able to teach others to be able to be the next big thing and to not be afraid to go out there and do something.”
Both the Vice President and the President did a really good job in advertising themselves as well as take that step in volunteering to do something for their class and for Redwood.
Alayla Ayala ’22, said, “All of my friends and family motivated me to run for vice president. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to win.” When asked why she believes being Vice President is a big task, she replies with, “Being Vice President is so exciting and I’m so excited to have a great year at Redwood…I am now taking leadership of my class and I want to make sure my peers, as well as myself, are able to have an awesome Redwood experience this year… I am going to do whatever I have to do to make Redwood better as well as making sure my class is up to date on Redwood events and able to get involved.”
This is a very special moment because it is their first year of high school and its something they will hold onto
