Redwood Teachers and Staff share about all the summer fun they had!

Finally, the much-awaited summer break arrived for the teachers of Redwood High School after a year filled with unforgettable memories and hard work. It’s time to unwind, catch up with friends and family, and recharge for the upcoming school year.

Summer break was an exciting time for teachers, filled with memorable experiences and adventures.

Mr. Rojas, a biology teacher, says, “During the summer my favorite activity…, was ice baths and then exercising afterward. It took two extremes from being super cold to overheating in the heat, so it was nice being cold in the summer instead of hitting the hundred-degree weather, so it was probably my favorite thing next to just enjoying my free time with some friends.”

Time away from school helped teachers find some new activities they enjoyed.

Ms. Martinho, who teaches math, had a memorable experience over the summer break. She went on vacation and something unexpected happened.

She says, “We were in North Carolina, where we were at a country concert and it started storming rain and they made us evacuate because of the lightning… we got to go back in after 30 minutes.”

Mr. Rojas used to switch classrooms, but this summer he finally got his very own official classroom, saying “Make it a comfortable environment for my students where they feel they feel like they want to be here and they want to come to my class.”

Ms. Johnson was trying new recipes! She worked with a ton of recipes and got a ton of cooking skills.

“I looked up a bunch of different recipes and I tried out as many recipes as I possibly could. So I learned a little bit more about how to cook and make things in the kitchen.” Ms. Johnson says.

After visiting London during summer break, Ms. Duerre realized how much she loved the city and was interested in moving there.

She says, “I found out that I love London and would love to move there.”

“I hope everybody has a good year and go Rangers.” Says Ms. Johnson.
