There are many amazing books in the world that not many people know about. A lot of them are actually amazing and wonderful reads.

The first book on the list is The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. The Westing Game is an exciting mystery book. There is a new apartment building just down the road from the millionaire Samuel W. Westing’s mansion. After Samuel Westing dies, the few people that are living in the new apartment building are in Mr. Westing’s will. The will is a puzzle, and the 16 tenants must solve it in pairs of two to win Mr. Westing’s fortune of $200 million dollars and they will also win control of his company. This book is a quick but interesting read. It will definitely hook you in and make you want to read in one sitting. This is an amazing mystery book that you will most definitely love.

Our next book is called Inkheart, written by Cornelia Funke. Inkheart is a fantasy trilogy. The story is about a 12 year old girl named Meggie and her father Mortimer. Meggie finds out something interesting about her father though. Whatever book he reads, the characters in that story will come to life. Mortimer reads a story called Inkheart to Meggie one day, and he brings the villains in the book to life. Mortimer, Meggie, and their aunt Elinor must fight the villains to stop them from taking over the human realm. This book is an amazing story about family, friends, and magic. This book is for anyone who loves an upbeat magical and unique adventure. This is a trilogy novel. The other two books are called Inkspell and Inkdeath.


The Hazel Wood

The next book up is called The Hazel Wood. It is written by Melissa Albert. The Hazel Wood follows 17 year old Alice. Alice and her mother never really had a place to live.

They live their life on the road. They are trying to run from their family’s bad luck. Alice’s grandmother is the author of a dark classic book of fairy tales. One day, Alice and her mother find out that her grandmother has died alone in her house, called The Hazel Wood. After this, Alice realizes just how bad her luck can get when her mother gets taken by someone who claims they are from Hinterland, her grandmother’s fantasy written world. Alice’s mom is now gone, leaving only a note for her. “Stay away from The Hazel Wood.” Alice has always tried to stay away from her grandmother and her fairy tales, but now she does not have a choice if she wants to get her mother back. This is a dark fairy tale story that you will love if you are into the creepier side of fantasy. The other books in this series include The Boy Who Didn’t Come Home, The Night Country and, Tales from the Hinterland.

The fourth and final book on the list is a series called Splintered, written by A.G. Howard. The book follows Alyssa Gardner, who is the great-great-great granddaughter of Alice Liddell, the inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.’ Every woman in the line of Liddell’s has gone mad, and next up is Alyssa. She hears the voices of insects and plants, and she knows the exact same thing happened to her mother before she got taken away. Alyssa tries to hide her delusions, but she knows she will end up like everyone else in her family. Madness runs in her family. But when someone from Alyssa’s past finds her, she realizes that maybe she, and the rest of her family aren’t as crazy as they seem. This novel is amazing for anyone who loves an adventure, with a bit of a love triangle on the side. The other three books in this series are Unhinged, Ensnared, and Untamed.

These are all wonderful books in their own, and they all deserve way more attention than they really get.
