Aaron Buckley ‘24 first got introduced into the band when he was in the fourth grade. He said, “we had a little meeting with our class about” band and how they can join and play instruments.

Many people find their inspiration to do the things they love from many things. Whether it’s from music, movies, or people.

Buckley said, “my inspiration is my mom, who was also a musician and she taught for a long time.”

Also, Buckley said his mom inspires him to do his best in music.

He plans on continuing with playing an instrument in the future. He said, “I think it’s cool.”

Since he plans on continuing his musical journey, Buckley wants to go to the University of California, Davis.

Buckley said “I play percussion” and he has not been playing for that long since he started playing his sophomore year. He first started playing percussion because he thought “it looked fun, so I decided to pick up some sticks and learn.”

All state is a competition with different divisions but musical wise and there are multiple rounds that students have to audition and go through in order to get into it.

Buckley had found out about all state through his instructor. He said, “alright let’s do it!”

The audition was pretty difficult for Buckley and he said “I practiced for definitely a few months.” He played snare drum, marimba, and symbols for the audition.

Of course, as everyone would be, Buckley said that he was “super super nervous” before the audition. But afterward, he said, “I’m glad I did it!”
