Boys water polo players Mitchell Dean ‘24, Brett Peterson ‘25, Caleb Solis ‘26 all have confidence in their team for this upcoming tournament 9/1 and here is what they have to say.

Mitchell Dean, ‘24 gives insight on how it feels playing his last season of water polo with the team. Dean says, “The tournament is pretty nerve racking, but our team is ready since we have been playing pretty high level teams.” Dean feels confident in his team performance and feels with hard work they can get further in the season.

Dean says, “Playing higher level teams pushes us to be closer and work together as a team.” Between going to Long beach and playing Clovis schools, they have to work hard and create that team bond in order to be a better team.

Since it is his last season, Dean says, “I’m pretty sad that it’s my last year but I feel confident with what I am leaving my team with.” He is going to work hard at this tournament and to hopefully leave the team with lots of successful wins.

Brett Peterson ’25, a junior on the team, states that he’s, “excited for this tournament and ready to see how it plays out.” When asked how he thinks the season is going, he says, “I think it’s pretty good, I’m really happy with how our team’s been working.” He further explains that he’s ready to see how the games will play out.

Peterson says, “I’m just happy we’re going out as a team that should be pretty fun, I’m interested to see how we play.” He’s ready for the tournament and ready to face the challenge of coastal teams they may play.

Caleb Solis ‘26, who plays on the right side of the field for the team, says, “So far the season’s going pretty good, the team still has some things to work out, but that’s what preseason is for.” Solis goes by saying that he’s ready to see how the tournament plays out.

The upcoming tournament is leaving Solis feeling nervous but confident. He says, “I usually feel nervous but this time I have played some of the teams so I’m not too nervous.” Although Solis feels confident he is worried about the team. He says, “We have had a lot of sickness so that might be a challenge but I know as a team we will get through it and have a successful season.”
