Many people have taken notice to the now strictly enforced dress code on campus. Not only is it unfair but its also taking away from our personal expression.

It shouldn’t matter if a shoulder is covered by three inches, or two, or one because no one is paying attention to them and its not a distraction.  Why should it matter if my shoulders are out and should I really lose class time over it? Is a question that many are left asking.

Dress code is something that is mostly enforced on girls which isn’t right.  If someone is comfortable in the clothes they bought or their parents bought why should we be shamed and forced to change clothes.

A fellow ranger Sofia Smith, 19′, is planning to take a stand. She plans on going to a district meeting with a group of people to speak out their ideas and bring attention to the outdated dress code.  Sofia says “the dress code is extremely oppressive to women at school” and is not the only one who believes this .

Hopefully there will soon be change for the better and we will all be made equal on the issue of dress code.
