Last weekend, the 91st Oscars, one of the biggest award ceremony took place on Sunday, February 24th, and 5:00 PM PST at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The Oscars, also known as the Academy Awards, recognizes excellence in cinematic achievements. The awards are given by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
There are many categories of awards, such as best movie, best actress, and best costume design. Many popular actors also presented people with these awards. The night started off with a performance by Adam Lambert and Queen. This performance helped the audience and viewers get hyped for the rest of the show.
A few of the many actors who attended and garnered a lot of attention included Lady Gaga, Tina Fey, and Bradley Cooper. There was also a breathtaking performance by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. They gave an amazing show with their hit song Shallow and everyone was hooked. This performance took of most of the spotlight of the night and was trending as a hot topic for a number of days even after the awards ceremony. Some award highlights were when Green Book won best picture, Rami Malek won best actor for Bohemian Rhapsody, and Olivia Colman won best actress for The Favourite. Alfonso Cuarón won best director and best cinematography for Roma, which also won best foreign language film.
The awards show was overall a success, as expected. The viewer ratings raised compared to the past year, to 26.9 Million, which proved that the ceremony was a hit.
