Over the school year, new and old trends have made an impact on fashion around campus. From the return of scrunchies, to the new wave of mom jeans, these trends have definitely left their mark on our students. Some of the most famous trends round campus include the plain colored long sleeves under t-shirts, cargo pants, jean jackets, Doc Martens, and chic yet casual outfits. This is also the result of the ever growing obsession with thrifting and hitting up places like Goodwill, Rescued Treasures, and more small thrifty shops around town.

Jonathan Acevedo, ’21, told the Gigantea, “My favorite trends have been the striped T- shirts, to be honest.” He went on to say, “I’ve noticed a lot of people rolling up their pants, and even cutting their pants at the bottom.” Daniela Carlos, ’20, says she’s been noticing a lot of mom jeans and birkenstocks. “My favorite trend so far has been birkenstocks, they’re so comfortable.”Dylan Rivera, ‘19, says the trend he’s noticed the most this year has been fanny packs. “The fanny pack is my favorite, I wear it everyday.” Rivera continued on to say, “As much as I love these trends, I think they’re gonna die, I really don’t think they’re gonna last.”

“Some trends I’ve really been noticing are the vans, and the shell necklaces,” says Kendall Valenzuela, ‘22. Nana Chong, ‘22, told us “Some trends that I’ve noticed is a lot from Brandy Melville, and a lot of stuff from PacSun.” She continued on to say, “the FILA shoes have also been around a lot, and I’ve noticed that people are wearing more accessories.” Chong also said “I really like belts, and necklaces, that’s what I’ve been wearing a lot of this year.”
