The Owl House is a Disney channel show, created by Dana Terrance, that began airing on January 10, 2020. The show follows Luz Noceda, a fourteen year old girl who finds herself in a world she’s never been before. The land she comes across is an archipelago known as the Boiling Isles, situated in a realm of demons and witches. Here, she learns magic of her own and makes many friends along the way.

As fans and others may know, the show is finally coming to an end after three years. As of now, there isn’t a confirmed date as to when the last episode is said to air, although, it is likely to air within a few months. The show has a loyal and dedicated fan base, who will be sad to see it go, but all good things must come to an end.

Jaime Galvan ’26, has been a fan of the show since being introduced to it through his sister, and it has been his favorite show ever since.

“I like the story, and I also like the characters and how they grow over the seasons.” Galvan says.

Unfortunately, the fans were given a disappointing announcement on March 25, 2022. The show had been canceled, leaving fans to wait months in between for new episodes.

“I find it inspirational that Luz was originally kind of like a nerd, and she didn’t really have any friends, but when she went into the other world, she was able to make friends she could relate to, and she was able to be herself.” Galvan says.

The show has a special place in the hearts of the fans, and it has impacted them in its own way. The Owl House is a boundary-pushing representation of the LGBTQ+ community. Characters like Raine Whispers, The Collector, and Masha, are confirmed to be non-binary. Luz and Eda Clawthorne are confirmed bisexual characters.

Valeria Gonzalez 25′, was introduced to The Owl House after one of her favorite online artists posted fan art of the show. She has been a fan since around the time the show first started to air.

Gonzalez says, “It really made me happy to see such diversity especially in the LGBTQ community, as well as in the hispanic community with Luz –the main character, being Hispanic.”

“It makes me really sad, but I like the way the show is going and I’m really satisfied with the ending. I’m glad that she–the creator–kept going even after Disney canceled the show.” Gonzalez says.

The show is a great one, and can be recommended to people and audiences no matter their age. It is an enjoyable watch, and can be both inspiring and influencing. The journey to the end has been a long and memorable one, with fans sticking with and being there for the show all throughout the way.
