“A moment of pain is a lifetime of glory,” says Alysa Betiong, ’22. She is a prime example of what it means to be a Ranger. She is hardworking and dedicated to everything she does.
Betiong’s confidence and personality allows her to reach all her goals. Her largest goal is to go to UCLA. She tries her best in school and works hard to reach her goals. “Being a Ranger means being true to yourself and everyone else. Don’t act fake or different when someone is around. Also, you gotta be extra with everything and show your Ranger spirit!” says Betiong.
Betiong is not only a hard working student, but she is also a great cross country runner. She is on the Redwood cross country team, and always has confidence in her skills. “Cross country really did make me a better person because no matter how exhausted I felt everyday, I felt accomplished after I worked hard in practice.” said Betiong. Her pr for the 3 mile race is 23 minutes, and she hopes to lower that number by next year. She is always ready for a challenge!
Betiong puts her heart into everything she does. “I wish people knew and realized how much work I put in. If there’s something that I care about a lot, I put a lot of work into it.” says Betiong. She is just one of the many Rangers that make Redwood a better school to go to.
