Redwood High School students show their support for a fellow ranger and his growing business.

David Ross, ‘25 is a small business owner who sells, trades and buys shoes all while being a student at Redwood High School.
In March of 2022, Ross established his small business “559_sells”. He sells a wide selection of shoes, the brands of shoes vary from all the way Nikes to Yeezys and everything in between.
Prior interests are considered and could be a valuable factor when starting a business. Ross says,“I’ve liked shoes for a while and I can make money doing it.”
Running a business as a teenager comes with many benefits including the making of your own money.“It’s good cause I can buy stuff that I want, ” says Ross.
Managing time plays a very important role in running small businesses. For many students it can become a hassle but Ross handles it differently.
Ross says, “It’s pretty easy, it doesn’t really take that much time to sell shoes plus I can meet [buyers] on the weekend”
As a business owner Ross has many products in stock that allows his customers to buy what appeals to them. A few Redwood Rangers, Peter Pinedo ‘24 and Ben Dwelle ‘24 shared their thoughts when they did business with “599_kicks”.
Pinedo bought a pair of Nike Dunk Grey Fogs. He says,“My favorite part was negotiating with im at his own house in his own room and he gave me a really good steal for these dunks”
Supporting a small business is an opportunity to give back to your community. Dwelle,who bought Blue University Dunks, says, “I rather pay a little bit more to a small business than pay a normal price to a big franchise”
Both of the students know Ross personally and found out about the business through his Instagram.
