The sophomore class of 2021 is now allowed to eat lunch off campus after having to stay on every day last school year. Some students still like to eat on campus. Daniela Martinez, ’21, says that she would rather ” …eat lunch on campus and stay with her friends. Going off campus is too much walking and there is not enough time to get back to Redwood in time to eat and make it to class.” Which is true. The 35 minute lunch does not seem like enough time to go get lunch and make it back in time. Students have to either eat while walking or they have to eat in the car. There is no time to sit down and eat.

The most popular places to eat are at Four Seasons and Docs. They are both in short walking distance and they provide good food to eat with plenty of choices to choose from. Four Seasons makes food in the morning and sells it at lunch for the students. Doc’s is a little further walking distance but provides good food for the students to eat.

The sophomore class is still getting used to the experience of going off campus, but the popular opinion is that going off campus is better than eating on campus. The cafeteria food provided by the school does not taste as good as fast food or the food that students bring from home.

Everyone has their own opinion on which option is better. But everyone should at least try eating lunch off campus so they can make a final decision on what most benefits them.
