As the school year continues, Chamber Choir gets ready to go on their annual chamber retreat to Hartland.
While getting ready to leave Eli Siegel ‘24 says, “It’s just us against nature, we’re put together, sleeping in cabins, so it’s just us.”
There will be many activities to do as a group and Siegel is excited to get out there, he says, “I think it’ll be fun.”
Siegel also says, “It hasn’t really dawned on me yet but I’m excited, I don’t really feel nervous at all.”
Another member of Redwood’s Chamber Choir, Sydney Anderson ‘23 says, “I am looking forward to getting to know some of our newer girls.”
This experience is something that both Siegel and Anderson have gone through before but they share the excitement in going again.
Though there will be many fun activities and opportunities for bonding Siegel says, “I think we’re doing 14 hours of rehearsals.”
Anderson elaborates, she says, “We have long rehearsals that last a couple of hours and then we have breaks periodically in which we get to play games and do different activities.”
Anderson is very passionate about being able to bond and become comfortable with her new group, she says “That [it] impacts our performances, as well as just rehearsing for longer periods of time than just one class will help us make more progress with our music.”
The Chamber Choir is putting in a lot of effort to make this trip the best it can be.
Anderson says, “I’m feeling so excited about it because I know how much fun we are going to have and I can’t wait to go.”
