The Redwood Highschool band performed at the Visalia Showcase on Monday, October 3, 2022.
The showcase is a time for students to come out and perform shows in a non-competitive way. Jordan Ray, band director at Redwood Highschool, said “I was hoping that the kids would just go out and have a great show and really show off the hard work that they have been working on [for] the last 6 to 8 weeks.”
When asked if his expectations were met, Mr. Ray said, “they were exceeded.”
Mr. Ray says, “In terms of doing better, I think the kids went out and did an amazing job.”
When asked what can be improved Ray says “We can always be tighter musically, we can always march a little better. But in terms of an early show, this early in the year going out and doing a show for your peers, I thought the kids killed it”.
Mr. Ray would like to add that he is “really proud of all the hard work the kids have done, they’ve got a great show and I can’t wait to show it off in competition this week.”
You can catch the Ranger Marching Band at a WBA competition on October 8th at Washington Union as well as future dates locally.
