Every year Visalia hosts an annual “Candy Cane Lane Parade”. In this parade Redwood Band and Dance participate in spreading the joy of the Holiday season.
On Monday, November 28, 2022 the groups performed down the decorated Visalia Main Street.
Dance Force member, Malyana Nieto, ’23, says her favorite part of the parade was “getting to experience it for the last time with my friends and getting to collect memories that will last a lifetime.”
Mrs. Lapp, Dance Force advisor, says that she thought her team did “amazing.”
Joseph Abbot, 26’, says that he thought the Marching Band did really well, “it was a lot of fun.”
Aiden Lupian, 25’, says, the band director, Mr. Ray, “passed out music before [Thanksgiving] break, so everyone could practice. The full band worked on it together the day of.”
Lupian adds that the Band “met up and ran a quick warm up and practiced the music a couple of times. After that [Redwood Band] lined up and did the parade.”
Dance Force member, Kahlen Novelo, ‘24, says that “the parade is always fun.” Novelo adds that she “can’t wait to continue the tradition next year.”
