Kahlen Novelo, ‘24, is one of the 5 2024 Dance Show soloists. Traditionally 4-year Dance Force members choreograph and perform their own solos. Novelo is an addition to this history.
Novelo has “been dancing for around 12 years,” and has “been working on this solo for about 7 months.”
“My solo is called ‘Love You in My Mind’ and the artist is Brynn Cartelli.”
Novelo says Cartelli is an icon “because of [her] love and dedication to music that started at a young age for her which is similar to my early passion for dance.”
“This dance is so important to me because this is my last dance show and this solo just really shows who I am as a dancer.”
Novelo says “The person who inspires me the most to dance is my little sister Rylann because she is one of my biggest fans and because she also dances, she looks up to me, and I just want to dance the best I can for her.”
Novelo says “If I was to describe my solo in one word I would say ‘legendary’.”
