On Thursday, September 29th, Redwood’s Women’s Tennis Team competed against El Diamante High School.
When asked about playing El Diamante, Jocelyn Arellano ‘23 says, “I felt confident going into the El Diamante match. I knew that the number one was going to put up a fight and try to win but I think I was solid throughout the whole match and won 6-2 and 6-0.”
Lindamarie Herrera ‘24 was also asked the same question. She says, “I felt pretty nervous because last time even though we won 7-2, it was really hard. We had to work for it, and I think they’re probably the second best team in who we play for league. So that’s why we were definitely more cautious and we were preparing the whole week.”
As the team has been preparing during practices, Antonella Cardenas ‘24 says, “Some of the specific things our team worked on to be prepared for our match against El Diamante was consistency and endurance.”
Cardenas continues by saying, “We also worked on our endurance by running drills in order to have the best energy level and effort for our match! In the end it paid off!”
Adding in, Herrera says, “ I just want to say I’m proud of Brooklyn and I because our doubles three is what made us beat El Diamante in the end.”
Cardenas has high hopes for this season. She says, “I only hope and wish the best for our future in the season and league tournament. One thing is for sure, we want it, we want to win it, and we will work hard and give it our all to achieve our goal! GO RANGERS!!”
