Redwood Seniors talk about their future hopes and dream colleges.

Throughout the four years of high school, one thing a student looks forward to is graduating and attending their dream school. Rangers have their specific reasons for the schools they choose to attend and how that college will benefit them.

Destinations and the environment of the college is a big factor that one considers when choosing their college.

Dakota Espinoza ‘23 says, “My dream college is San Diego State! I would love to be by the beach, and it’s a really good program.”

“It’s always been my dream to visit New York and like to settle down there for a year. I always wanted to travel the world, and New York was the first place I wanted to go. Columbia was the one that caught my eye,” says Baraa Hussin ‘23.

Going to a college near familiar family and friends helps ease the transition and makes the college more desirable.

“I also have family down there, so I’m familiar with the area. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it, I have a lot of friends that go there too,” says Espinoza.

For others their loves and interests drive their dreams such as Abraham Hernandez ‘23. He says, “My dream school is probably Fullerton. I’m really interested in skating and it seems like a cool school to be at, and to skate around.”

Going into college the seniors have to choose a specific major.  The college chosen also depends on the major in mind.

Hussin says, “My major is Biochemistry! I plan on being a pharmacist, or a pharmaceutical scientist, but first a pharmacist.”

Espinoza says, “I’m thinking about going into Kinesiology, I want to stay into the sports world because soccer has been a big part of my life… I think it would be really cool being on the field with soccer players.”
