Doc’s Drive In Diner is located on 421 W Acequia Ave, Visalia, CA,
Doc’s Drive In is one of the ultimate classic spot for students to hang out whether it be during lunch or after school. Doc’s offers variety of food choices from classics like Burgers or some good old Mexican Food. Doc’s never seems to disappoint because people end up becoming loyal customers and know exactly what to order.
Doc’s is especially popular among Redwood students because of how moderately close it is, that is if you’re on Main and don’t mind walking or you have a car, but if you’re on Vista and decide to walk to Doc’s for your lunch, good luck on making it back on time. However, the great part about Doc’s is the fact you can order your food ahead of time, let’s say during fourth period, but I recommend doing it before fourth period because fourth period is busy with students calling in to place their orders. Once your order is placed, you can head over and pick it up or have someone pick it up for you if you can’t do it, aka for the poor souls on Vista.
Doc’s may be a classic and popular place to go to, but of course there are problems. It’s always packed during lunch, early release days and after school because it’s that popular. The major con is the fact it takes a while to get your order, even when you’ve placed it in before going to Doc’s. However, it doesn’t stop people from going.
The food at Doc’s is pretty good, but it depends on who you talk to and what you decide to order. People, such as myself, usually order the same thing every single time.
The Top 3 items that students usually buy is their Burgers with a Combo, the Chicken Strips with Fries Combo or other known as the Chicken Basket, and their Milkshakes.
If you never ordered food there, I highly recommend the Chicken Basket due to the fact the chicken strips are big, crispy and sometimes they just throw in extra chicken strips for free in your order. The fries that are included are soft in the inside and crispy on the outside. They are seasoned with different types of seasoning, and the best part of the whole order are the sauces. They hand you every sauce you didn’t ask for, BBQ and Ranch but surprisingly not Ketchup. The ranch is actually fire because it doesn’t taste like typical store bought ranch, trust me on this.
Whether it be to tag along with friends or sit down and have some Chicken Strips, bring $10 and you won’t be disappointed with the food or the experience.
On Today’s Menu will be a monthly column, so make sure to check back every third Friday of every month for a food/restaurant review. Next month I will be reviewing everything pumpkin spice so don’t miss out!
