Coach Vieira talks about his new roster for the 2025-26 Women’s Varsity Soccer season and some new goals for the coming season.

Coach Vieira knows how many girls try out for soccer each year and understands just how competitive the sport has become at Redwood High school.
“A lot of the girls that came back looked really strong,” he said. “I feel really good about where we are to start the season.”
Even with a promising group, this year’s roster had notable gaps to fill.
With several talented seniors graduating last spring, the team had to rebuild key positions.
When asked how he filled the holes left behind, Vieira explained, “It’s hard to tell until we actually play someone. I feel good about the kids that we have on the team and their ability to fill those roles.”
Though confident, he acknowledges the challenge of replacing last year’s standout players.
Vieira said “the kids we lost [from ’25] are hard to replace,” recognizing the impact those athletes had on the program’s success.
“I think that if they have the right mindset and they really work together as a team, I think we can do some really special things.” He emphasized that chemistry, communication, and consistency will be essential as the girls begin shaping their identity on the field.
“But that being said, the kids that are on the team this year are pretty stellar,” Vieira said.
With high expectations and a confident coaching staff behind them, the Women’s Varsity Soccer team is ready to chase new goals and make their mark on the 2025–26 season.
