Though, with Redwood in division one for soccer, they will be playing other schools just as good as them.
The real question being, can they take it all?
Head Coach Vieira says “League has not been very competitive, we’ve pretty much dominated it.”
Division one will be much more difficult, but these athletes are up for the challenge.
The girls’ biggest competition in the D1 section is San Luis Obispo, the school that took Redwood out of the playoffs last year.
Other challenging schools are going to be Buchanan and Liberty.
Vieira says “Everyone has a pretty good shot.”
Someone who has been contributing to these wins immensely is sophomore Miranda Ortiz.
Vieira said “Her impact on the game, it’s not just in goals, it’s the passes she makes and her ability to anticipate the game. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
They have gone undefeated in league, and for playoffs it’s looking promising.
“I think that we’ll be a top fourth seed for sure. We have a really good chance to win the whole thing,” Vieira says.
Overall, he said “It’s just gonna depend on how focused we are, lucky we are, there’s a lot of factors. We’re going in healthy, which is good, I really like this team.”
