With new members flowing in, Schieferle being a new member herself says  “I feel really confident in our group because I know how hard we all work.” Schieferle is excited to work with and get closer to everyone in Chamber Choir.

Hailey Rasmussen ’23 says “Getting closer to the people in your choir and building a sense of trust” is important to how the choir will come together as a group.

The choral director, Mr. Carrillo says “We’re ramping up and trying to get back to the way we rehearsed.” Carrillo says that one of the biggest challenges for the choir has been “because Covid happened there is a hesitancy for kids to buy into something because there was always that chance that something could be canceled.”

There was not a lot of conflict between the new and experienced members, everyone was understanding and just trying to figure out how their group is going to get better together.

Rasmussen says “It’s kind of hard to get used to how all the different voices come together.” She says that the “Chamber Retreat” is what she is most excited for because “It’s where we bond the most and our sound starts to come together.”

There are learning curves to everything and unanimously everyone agrees that it’s just going to take time to come together and adapt to the new voices.

When it comes to upcoming events, Carrillo says, “We have our fall concert October 14th at LJ it’s at 7 and we’d like you all to come.”

Starting off this year Schieferle says, “I think it is really fun and challenges you in a new way musically.”
