Friday September 25, 2021, ASB put together a Neon Glow in the Dark day. Many Rangers showed school spirit and wore neon attire.
Students were dressed up in all types of bright colors and wearing colorful accessories.
Yamna Vasquez 22’ really showed her school spirit. She says her favorite part about Neon day is getting to dress up in bright colors.
Due to Covid-19, school spirit has looked a little different this year.
Vasquez says she expects these dress up days to bring back all the good memories. She says that she wants these ideas to bring Redwood back to life.
Vasquez says, “I was thinking about wearing a neon yellow shirt, high top socks, and wearing neon paint all over.”
These dress up days are supposed to be when all the great vibes, and good laughs are supposed to come to reality.
Ms. Aguilar says it’s fun to see the students get dressed up, and it’s really exciting so the creative ideas the kids come up with.
Aguilar says “I hope it encourages kids to dress up again and that it’s fun, and it’s part of the high school experience”.
Aguilar says it is meant to include everybody, and that you can wear whatever you want and have a good time.
The dress up days are designed to make all the students feel a part of something great.
Julia Morones ’24 says she expects to get loud vibes.
Morones says, “You want to be able to hear the color that you see”.
Morones says that the dress up days are really smart because they are easy to do and also really exciting.
Morones says she walked into Party City and grabbed anything bright that grabbed her attention.
Dress up days originated as a homecoming tradition for high school.
It’s giving students the chance to dress up and break from the usual routine can keep them engaged and involved as they go about their day in class.
