The ’90s were known for having popular music from R&B to Grunge, it was a sensation. One of the more popular groups was none other than TLC. A group that consisted of three women known as T-boz, Left eye, and Chilli. They took the R&B world by storm with their crazy, sexy, and cool music.

TLC was formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1990 by the company LaFace. At first when forming the group, it was tough since the producer believes one of the girls, Crystal did not fit in well. Then came Chilli and they were hitting top charts. Their first album, Ooooooohhh… on the TLC tip was released on February 25, 1992, leaving people in love with their charms.

In TLC’s whole career they won 4 Grammys, 3 Billboards, and 5 Soul Train Music Awards and many more. They have sold 65 million records worldwide and became the best selling girl group in America. TLC was also known as the greatest girl group as they placed 12th on the list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music.

They have many well-known songs from Creep to Waterfall, but No Scrub was the biggest hit from the group. These ladies were on top of the world for so long, but sadly nothing lasts forever.

On April 25, 2002, Lisa Lopes (Left Eye) sadly lost her life at the age of 31 in a terrible car accident. At the time, Lopes was working on her second solo album, but could not finish it. Since the accident, it was said that the other TLC members would publish the album as 3D and would retire after. T-boz and Chilli did not want to replace Lopes, but they did become a duo.

15 years later, the duo came back with their new album TLC. This album sold 12,000 units in just the first week it was published and was ranked number 38 on the Billboard 200. Despite all the trouble they went through when losing an important person, they pushed through it to see the bright side and continued to do what they loved the most.
