I write for the Lifestyle section in Clubs & Lifestyles. I write stories about upcoming events and other fun stuff. What I've learned from being a journalist is that it's really fun. I really do love writing stories. What's important about my work is my passion. I love interviewing new people and getting to know more about them and then writing a story about them. What I'm proud of doing for the Gigantea is getting to represent my school by writing stories about its students.

Rangers Bring the Hype to the Upcoming Football Season
Redwood had lost to the Centennial football team. It was to share student's feelings about how it was. This story shows my professionalism because I remember being really nervous to interview, but I still did it, and I ended up doing pretty good for my first interview. I think this story shows good interviewing skills because I feel that the quotes really made the story, and I didn't have to write very much.
This story matters because a lot of people had gone to that football game. It was exciting for many and new to many as well. I think it was also interesting, since Redwood did lose too.

Reflection
Where have I been?
Before I took journalism class, I thought it was just going to be a lot of writing. I also thought it would be a pretty boring class, but so far I've been loving it. I actually had never heard the term 'journalist', so I was surprised when I learned what I was going to be doing for the rest of the year.
Where am I now?
After taking journalism class for a semester now, I now can explain more. What I mean by that is that in writing essays, for example in English, I find it now a lot easier to add commentary because that's what I do when I'm writing a story! It's so much easier for me because I use to really struggle with not knowing how to explain without creating a whole lot of sentences, that didn't really make sense.
Where am I going?
Two goals that I have for myself next semester are to write more stories than I did this semester. I only wrote 5 stories this semester so I hope I can maybe double that. One goal that I have for my section is that I hope we can do more interesting stories, since these past few weeks, nothing too interesting has been happening at Redwood.
