Kyndall Correia, ‘24, casted as Cady Heron, plays a girl who moved to a small town in Illinois after previously living in Africa. Heron gets a feel for public school and falls into the popular group of girls known as the “Plastics”.
Correia is a 4 year Redwood Drama member and has developed many skills over the years to help her gauge her characters.
She says, “I’m learning that it’s really hard to convey Cady’s emotions because she is always going back and forth between plastic and herself.”
Correia says that she is adding her own personal twist to the character and diving into the true plastic sass. “I am throwing in my own posture and hand gestures.”
She notes the importance of Mrs.Galvan (Redwood’s Drama Teacher) and her contributions to the production. “She is such a good teacher and you definitely learn a lot from her. I also think that I am just more comfortable with the way that she does things because I have been in her class for a long time.”
“I really think that opening night is going to be really exciting and just the whole experience. Watching everyone’s characters develop, and even mine as well,” says Correia.
