Key Club is a community service club where students come together to help out the environment inside and outside of school. They normally find events to go to by searching online, asking people over the phone, or walking into places and asking.
The president Abigail Leonard, ’21, mainly posts on PowerPoint or Jaír so people can do their work. The past president Savannah Travis, ’20, sends all of the new information of Key Club to the district so the kids know which events they can go to each month. The president also picks someone to be in charge of their Instagram to post and write about things promoting the club.
The secretary Annemarie Lawrence, ’21, says she gets to keep track of all the progress made and report back to Key Club headquarters and the officer team which is close so it’s great for students, they have a lot of fun doing events and leading their section.
The students have to use their connections to find certain events which is great because it builds relationships and gets Redwood Key Club out there, this also gives them the opportunities to learn and use their resources which will definitely be beneficial later on in life.
Key Club is a great way to give back to your community and increase your community service hours while hanging out with new people and making new friends while learning so many new things by the end of the day.
