Ranger JV Football has had an incredible pre season. Redwood has won 4 games overall with no losses and 1 tie.

JV had a nail biting game against Clovis North as it resulted in a tie. Troy Harris, ’26, is a quarterback on the Redwood JV Football Team. He says, “It wasn’t our best performance but we fought hard and didn’t lose, so thats what counts.”

Harris also says, “I could have improved on coverage and tackling. Our defense is doing good, we could probably improve on our offense though.”

Cade Everett, ’26, a wide receiver and tight end, says, “It’s been going pretty good, we’ve won the games we’ve needed to win but we probably could score a little more on offense.”

Coach Brian Austin, says, “Our defense is getting really good, we can improve on tackling. For me as a defensive coach, I want to get more players in the game and in rotations.”

Coach Austin also says that he’s excited to see his players getting back on the field. He says, “We have players that just got off of the ineligible list and now they’re eligible. These players worked really hard to get their grades up and I’m proud of them and ready for them to play.”

The JV team is filled up with excitement for league that is just around the corner. Julian Perez, ’26, says, “I’m most excited to play Golden West because we’ve played against them for so long.”

Everett says, “I’m more excited to play Whitney because they’re our cowhide rivalry.”

With only a few more weeks left of the JV football season, center Julian Perez says, “ I’m excited to get better and prepare for Varsity.”
