Against Mt. Whitney on Tuesday, October 10th, JV boys won 10 to 4 with determination and spirit. Though not one of the best teams the team has played, Von Borowicz, ’27, says “We have to play every game like the hardest team.”

Borowicz says he stays motivated by, “knowing that the team needs to win and we got to keep a high position because we are ranked pretty good so far and I know that we are better than a lot of the teams.”

When asked if there were any good plays Borowicz says, “There were a lot of good drives down to the middle and that got us some good shots.” Borowicz explains that his teammates played well and did what they needed to do.

Borowicz says, “We need to keep up what we are doing and try our best in every game because the games that we don’t win are the games that we think we have it.”

Joseph Landin, ’27, says, “After the game, I usually like to celebrate with my teammates and reflect over the game and see what I could’ve improved on, and mainly just celebrate the win because I know that a lot of the times putting in that hard work, we all deserve a reward.”

Landin says he stays motivated by, “having a good work ethic and seeing my other teammate’s passion for the game and how much hard work they put in, it really keeps me motivated.”

Though Landin says that the desire for that win is something to be really proud of. “We could improve on our communication skills throughout the game, and we are planning to strive for that goal,” says Landin.

Landin says that his teammates put in the hard work and that the “consistency really stood out to me.”

Sef Feierbach, ’27, says that he gets through the game by “pushing and working hard every game.”

During the game Ferierbach says, “I need to get more open in the game so that I can perform better plays.”

Though winning and leaving Mt. Whitney trailing behind, Feierbach says that Mt. Whitney had a disadvantage because “they only had like two subs, meanwhile we had like twenty.”

Feierbach simply feels “good” after winning a game.

Saxxan Griffin, ’27, says that “winning is what keeps me in the game.”

Griffin says his feelings are influenced by how the game goes, “If we win then I’m happy and proud but if we lose then it’s kind of a demotivater.”

Griffin says, “A lot of my teammates did great passing, and shot good goals.”

Griffin says that he now “Understands the game better, I just need to get better on the fundamentals.”

On Thursday, October 12th against El Diamante, they took home another win this season with a rallying score of 19 to 2.

Jace Darnell, ’27, says they “played better [Thursday] than we did Tuesday. We were messing around and the coach told us how we needed to focus and we picked up and beat them.”

After the win they brought home from the October 10th game at Mt. Whitney, Darnell says he is, “still making some mistakes [on things] I need to improve on, but I will definitely be able to accomplish them before the next game.”

After the win on October 12th, Darnell says he felt “pretty confident and ready for the next one.”

Diego Brown, ’27, says he prepares himself for the game by “having fun and playing the game.”

“I was feeling thrilled after the game since we had beat them,” says Brown.
