Last Friday they held the annual Improv Show at the Rotary Theatre. All four high schools came together to put on this well known event around Visalia. Many of the students have been doing it for years and some students have never done anything like an Improv Show before, but it is a great way to keep everyone in the community connected and involved.

Improv is all about being able to improvise and react quick enough on stage when given a random scenario or scene. All the students prepared for the performance by getting together at each school and rehearsing the games they did the night of the show. Parker Chalabian,’19, who has been doing the Improv show for three years loves improv because “you have no idea what is going to happen and it makes it so much more exciting and fun.” The drama students at Redwood all agree that the Improv Show makes you a better actor because it always keep you on your feet thinking about what you’re going to do or say next.

Josh Jimenez,’19, said, “It was great show due to the amount of talent there was at each school.” Everyone brought something unique and different to the table making it funny and enjoyable for the crowd. People are interested in seeing what is in store for next year’s Improv Show.

Mrs. Galvan, the drama teacher at Redwood, and Mr. Anders, the drama teacher at Golden West did the show together making it run smoothly. They had the idea of interacting with the audience to let them choose crazy locations and scenes to use in the show. This made the show a lot more entertaining to watch.

The Improv show was a successful night and a blast for everyone involved. Don’t forget to support our Drama Program by coming to see the fall play It’s A Wonderful Life on November 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the Rotary Theatre.
