Girl’s Tennis & Volleyball have their own tournaments on the same day as Homecoming, here at Redwood High School, on September 14, 2018.
Redwood’s Girl’s Varsity Tennis Team has their Visalia Invite tournament on the same day as Redwood’s Homecoming. Claire Yang, ’19, said, “Well, I’ve actually had this happen to me in the past years, so it’s not too much of a surprise to me.” The large central tennis courts serve as a stage for the players to view everyone dressed up throughout the day. Yang, ’19, said, “The most Homecoming will do for us at our tournament is serve a larger distraction during passing period.”
The Varsity Volleyball team will also be having their Visalia Invite tournament on Homecoming. Molly Collins, ’19, said, “Honestly I would have preferred that the game were not on Homecoming, so that we wouldn’t have to miss the parade.” Despite missing the parade, the girls will still have time to get ready for the football game. Collins, ’19, said, “I’m hoping that Homecoming will make it a little bit more exciting for us to play and put our all in.”
In the midst of all the craziness and excitement of Homecoming week, don’t forget to wish our teams good luck!
